A new year means new opportunities for the 17-time world champion, Los Angeles Lakers. The team will be headlined by the superstar tandem of Lebron James and Anthony Davis. However, the pair will need help carrying the load night in and night out.

Key roleplayers, such as Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt will round out the starting five. Unlike last season, the team will have immense depth on the bench including offseason signees Gabe Vincent and Christian Wood.

Davis and James come into the season “feeling 100%,” with James stating “I was able to get my foot back to where it was before the injury last year.” Davis stated, during Lakers’ media day, his desire to play all 82 games this season, something he has never done in his career.

The Lakers season will kick off with a preseason match-up against the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 7, with the preseason wrapping up on Oct. 19. The regular season will get underway on Oct. 24, with the Lakers on the road against the defending champion, Denver Nuggets.

With the season almost here, the Lakers are gearing up for a run at championship title number 18. It will take the combined efforts of a whole franchise to get them there. If all goes right, the Lakers will end the season with Tinseltown celebrating Hollywood ending number 18.
