1. Waffle House Shooter in Custody

One day following the shooting in Antioch, Tennessee at a waffle house that killed four, Metro Nashville Police Department has confirmed the suspect Travis Reinking, has been arrested. Due to the manhunt taking place on Monday, schools in the area cancelled all after-school program activities until the shooter was caught. While the shooter's motives are unknown, he did request a lawyer upon being arrested. He is charged with four counts of murder. In a statement made by Nashville Mayor David Briley, he said, "Tragedies like this are fundamental to our way of life in America. Everyone should be able to go to a restaurant or church or school without fear. I'll do everything I can to make that possible. If we all come together for the greater good, we can take weapons of war off the street."

2. Fraternity Expelled from Syracruse University 

After a video was released by Theta Tau fraternity at Syracruse University which contained behavior that was viewed as racist, homophobic, sexist and hostile, the university has decided to expel the fraternity. Upon the release of the video, students began to protest at the university campus. Syracruse DPS Chief Bobby Maldonado, released a statement regarding the active members of the Theta Tau university in which he said, "Out of an abundance of caution and ongoing concern for our campus community, Provost Michele Wheatly and Dean of Students Rob Hradsky notified the 18 students of their removal from academic participation, effective immediately. Alternative class and study arrangements will be made for these students as the judicial process moves forward."

3. George H.W. Bush in Intensive Care

Following the funeral of his wife, former president George H.W. Bush, has confirmed to be in intensive care after, "contracting an infection that spread to his blood," according to a statement released by the office of the former president. Bush is reportedly responding to treatment and is looking to recover soon.

4. Royal Couple Welcome Baby Number Three

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have welcomed their third child, on Monday at 11:01 UK time. This is the couple's second son who weighed in at 8lbs 7oz. Kensington Palace confirmed the rest of the royal family has been notified and are delighted to hear of the news.

5. Van Strikes Pedestrians in Toronto

A man identified as Alek Minassian, 25, struck pedestrians with a white van in Toronto, Canada on Monday morning, killing ten and injuring 15 others. Minassian immediately fled the scene following the incident, he was later caught and arrested. Minassian is from Richmond Hill, Ontario and is a student at Seneca College. While Minassian's motives are still unclear, Ontario has given its condolences to the families of the victims and those injured.
