To cap off Veterans Appreciation Week, Chaffey College Veteran's Resource Center hosted a Veterans Luncheon on Thursday Nov. 14 in the AD Building quad. The event was meant to celebrate our veterans while sharing a meal with them. It was available to veterans from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the rest of the Chaffey College community from 12:30 to 1:30.

They served Mexican food and a vanilla cake shaped like America. The food was provided by Panther Cafe with Wendy McCormack and Winston Lee helping serve it. The cake was provided by the Chaffey College Student Government department. Faculty, students, CCSG and Social Awareness Club were in attendance.

“My dad was a veteran so I feel like because I grew up with it within my family you just grow up with a level of respect for people who go and protect their country,” stated student Daisy Avila.

“I appreciate veterans because I have family member who served in the navy and I understand the veterans and their families have to make to protect our freedom,” stated staff member Valeen Gonzalez.

“I appreciate veterans because they risk their lives for us,” stated student Icesis Yepiz.
