Last Minute Flight: Marco Jacome’s Story

On Monday, November 18 Dubois Aviation hosted a team of students at the airport in Chino, California for a private flight lesson. Lou Dubois, the head instructor at Dubois Aviation, began the course by providing a 45-minute verbal lesson. During the lesson, Dubois went over the history of aviation, the physics that allows a plane to fly, how to earn various licenses and most importantly, how to fly a plane. Although nerves were high, Lou Dubois reassured each student it would be a safe and exciting lesson. Promptly after the class, Marco Jacome, Christopher Sainz, and Kenya Staley boarded one of the school’s plans to begin their 30-minute flight to Prado Reservoir while Ryan Gibson stayed on the ground to photograph the takeoff. Staley was the actual pilot during the flight lesson, while Dubois sat passenger side with both Sainz and Jacome sitting in the back. After the lesson, Dubois parked the plane while the four students of the flight went back to PDM Film studio to discuss the experience.
