Chaffey College’s Library Amenities

By Angel Gomez

While attending a community college does have its benefits, financial hardships are a reality for many students who attend Chaffey College.

But students at Chaffey College are not facing these hardships alone, with the help of Chaffey Libraries, new amenities have been made available for all students attending Chaffey.

Theses amenities include iPads, Chromebooks, Wi-Fi Hot Spots and Camcorders. These amenities can be checked out by any Chaffey student with their student or government ID.

Each of these objects however, have different holding times.

The iPad and Camcorder have a one week period, which they can be held and then students must renew them at one of the Chaffey libraries.

The Wi-Fi Hotspots and Chromebooks can be held for an entire semester unlike their one week counterparts.

These items come with conditions, of course.

Not only must students sign a contract to take personal responsibility for the items, they must also pay back the school for any damages to them it while in their possession.

This does not include if a checked out item is not working upon check out (which you must bring up to the librarians immediately) but things such as water damage or a cracked screen do.

All items come with chargers and containers to hold them to ensure safety. Students should make sure to keep said items in the protective containers as to not cause damage.

These amenities will help students who cannot afford their own devices and Wi-Fi succeed with their schoolwork.

Students cannot always come into the libraries for the Wi-Fi and computers made available. So it is nice to know that students can take library resources home with them, for a better and well rounded education.
