Chaffey College Zine Fest

Chaffey College students gathered in The Breeze newsroom to learn about zines, and how to create one of their own.

Led by Chaffey Librarian Annette Young, Zine Fest was a fun and informative experience for students to try their hand at creating a zine themselves. The event, held Wednesday, December 11th, opened with a slide show presentation and quick lecture about the history of zine-making. Students were invited to ask questions and discuss the relevance of zine-making in today's academic climate. There was conversation about zines emerging from the punk culture and feminist waves of the 70s, as well as information on where to find zines in the Chaffey College Rancho Cucamonga campus library. After, students were provided with plenty of materials and instruction to create their own zine out of a single piece of paper.

For anyone who may be interested in future zine events on campus, Zines: How To Execute A Mock Up Of Your Zine will be held February 19 from 1-2:30pm in CAC-105 on the Rancho Campus.
