Chaffey Roadside Assistance Better than AAA?
One of the silliest mistakes we make when we are in a hurry is locking ourselves out of our own cars. How many times were we in such a rush we did not give it a second thought before slamming the car door behind us, only to realize we left the keys in the ignition. It happens, but do not call AAA just yet.
Not yet, especially if you are a student at Chaffey College.
When you find yourself locked out of your car, you do not have to call AAA and use up any of your assistance units. You might need those later for a more critical moment. One alternative is to call for an Uber to take you home to fetch your spare key, and then come right back. Perhaps you do this because you do not want to bother asking a favor from someone to drive you around.
Uber is a faster solution, and it might make the most sense in the heat of the moment. However, it will cost you some change. A two-way trip to your residence and back to the parking lot could cost anywhere from$15-$60 depending where you live. If you are not ready to part with that amount, then Uber is not the best move, no matter how much faster than AAA it helps you get to your spare key.
A second alternative is to call Chaffey Roadside Assistance (CRA). This is something most Chaffey students are unaware of. This is a campus security team that patrols the campus and parking lots throughout school operational hours. Give them a call with your location and description of car trouble, they will come find you within minutes. That's much faster than a 20-minute, 40-minute, or even 1-hour wait for AAA services. Additionally, these services are offered free of charge.
When I got locked out of my vehicle, I called campus security and a team came and found me within five minutes. Immediately they took out the tools to start working their way into my car by way of the car window, and hooking the door handle at an angle that unlocks the car. Incidentally, this is the same process you'd get from AAA. Except AAA cannot spend too much time with you like the way Campus Security can.
Since my car was a Honda Civic 2000 model, it took Campus Security much longer to unlock my car - about twenty minutes until they got in. The problem with AAA is that they will leave after a certain amount of time. They may apologize and offer you the tools like wedge lockout tools and long reach tools. But Chaffey Campus security will be with you until your situation has been resolved.
Your car troubles do not have to be limited to being locked out from your vehicle. You can ask CRA to help you jumpstart your car if your battery has died. Perhaps you accidentally left your headlights on for hours and now it won't start. Even if you don't have jumping cables, CRA will come to help you out.
So if you are in car trouble and you are on Chaffey grounds, you might want to consider calling Chaffey Roadside Assistance to resolve your problem.
