The Monday night loss to the Detroit Lions was the last straw in what has been a disappointing last two seasons.

In January of 2022 both McDaniels and Zieglar were hired to fill those voids of coach and General Manager after a drama filled 2021 season.

With the Raiders acquiring star receiver Davante Adams via trade, many expected the Raiders to take the next step. However, things didn't go as planned as the Raiders finished with a record of 6-11.

In the offseason, the Raiders released Quarterback Derek Carr and brought in veteran Jimmy Garoppolo who was released from the 49ers. The Raiders have continued to struggle starting  the season 3-5 with one of the worst offenses in the NFL.

Wide Receiver Davante Adams has been visibly frustrated with his lack of production this season. This became evident after recording only one catch against the Lions on Monday Night.

“I don’t know what to say at this moment. I truly don’t. I wish I had the words to say something that's not gonna get blown up in the media and taken out of context” Adams said postgame.

It became evident to Mark Davis, the owner of the Raiders, that there needed to be changes. The Raiders had continued to fall short of expectations under McDaniels who has a coaching record of 20-33 in his two stints as head coach.

Much of the Raiders future is in the air as they have since benched Quarterback Jimmy Garappolo for rookie Aiden O’Connell. They will need to fill Head Coach and General Manager for the second time since moving to Las Vegas.

The Raiders have only made the playoffs twice since 2002 losing both wild card games. They have constantly failed to get the right people in key positions with multiple front office and coaching changes.

The Raiders will have the opportunity to finally address key issues on their team and hopefully start competing in a loaded American Football Conference.
