1. Downie Passes:

Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie has passed away. The 53-year-old was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer last year. The famous musician suffered from glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. Gord Downie's family thanks everyone for the love shown to him over the years. Fans continue to pay their respects, tweeting about the star and listening to his music.

2. Allegations Against Second Weinstein Brother:

Amanda Segel, the executive producer of Spike TV series “Mist”, stated that Bob Weinstein repeatedly invited her to private dinners and tried to develop a personal “friendship” in 2016, even as she repeatedly rebuffed his advances. Segel says he also invited her to his hotel room. Weinstein’s lawyers have denied Segel’s claims, saying they have “the emails to prove it” and “there is no way in the world that Bob Weinstein is guilty of sexual harassment.” Segel, describes her new work environment as "pleasantly low-key", and focused on developing her own projects.

3. Hashtag Spreads Across Social Media:

People who have been sexually assaulted are tweeting "#MeToo" to show how widespread the problem is on twitter. Thousands of women have shared their stories, including Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney. In a statement, Maroney tweeted that former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar subjected her to multiple molestations. She explains how this had been occurring since she was 13 until she left the sport. Nassar faces 22 counts of first-degree sexual conduct and 11 counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct at the state level, Megan Hawthorne, the deputy press secretary for Michigan State Attorney General Bill Schuette, reports.

4. Trump's Prototypes:

Some of the prototypes for Trump's border wall are ready. During his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump proposed a concrete wall to stop illegal border crossing. With the deadline a week away, there are already constructed prototypes of what the possible wall along the southern border would look like. Trump will pick the final design, although the funding has not yet been approved by congress.

5. Active Shooter in Baltimore:

Police are currently investigating a shooting at Emmorton Buisness Park, which left three people dead and two others in critical condition. The park is located outside of Baltimore. Shock trauma clinicians are evaluating 2 patients at the University of MD medical center. Authorities continue a search for the suspect, who has reportedly connected to an earlier shooting in Delaware.
