Chaffey College Transfer Resources: Supporting Students Through the Next Step

by Chayse Larsen

For many students at Chaffey College, transferring to a four-year university is the goal. Whether it is to a Cal State University (CSU), a University of California (UC) or another school in or out of state, the transfer process can feel challenging and overwhelming.

As the deadline for submitting fall transfer applications quickly approaches, closing on Dec. 1, students are turning to Chaffey’s transfer resources for guidance.

Chaffey College offers a variety of different pathways and resources designed to help students navigate the transfer process. The school regularly hosts transfer events and activities, with its primary goal of connecting students to valuable information and support. Counselors are also readily available for students to confirm that they are meeting graduation requirements, help develop personal education plans and offer information about the transfer process.

At the center of these efforts is the transfer center, located in the Student Services/Administration (SSA) building. The center is there to assist students with CSU and UC transfer applications.

For CSU applications, the transfer center provides walk-in assistance, with no appointment needed. Those who prefer a scheduled meeting can email transfer.staff@chaffey.edu to book a 20 minute transfer application review. For virtual appointments, students are expected to have 90% of the application completed, the ability to share their screen and submit an application review acknowledgement prior to the appointment.

For UC applicants, the transfer center hosts workshops dedicated to walking students through the entirety of the application and answering any specific questions.

The Chaffey College website also features a detailed step-by-step plan on what students should do after applying, including important deadlines and financial aid options.

Additionally, the school offers ADT (Associate Degree for Transfer) pathways, which are designed to streamline the process of moving from a community college to a four-year university. This can also guarantee admission to the CSU system for eligible students.

Because of these resources, many students say they feel supported by the transfer center staff. Education major Alexis Sanchez, 25, has relied on these services throughout this current semester as he prepares to transfer to a university in fall 2026.

“I’m working on my Cal State applications right now, and the transfer center has been a huge part of me getting through this process,” he stated. “The transfer center and the counselors I’ve met with so far have helped me so much.”

Chaffey has also hosted transfer fairs on campus, which aim to increase outreach and inform more students that there is help available.

“It gave me a lot of valuable insights into what this process looks like and what my next steps need to be,” Sanchez said.

As deadlines for fall 2026 applications quickly approach, many students are balancing demanding coursework and undeniable stress over the uncertainty of this next step. For them, Chaffey’s transfer resources can make all the difference, giving clarity, confidence and the support needed to stay on track.
