Using Writing as an Act of Resistance
In this mildly dystopian time of generative AI, Tom Cruise deepfakes, rampant misinformation online, genocide in Gaza and Sudan, war in Ukraine and Iran, as well as the climate emergency, what is the power of the written word? Is the pen mightier than the sword? Is the keyboard mightier than a cruise missile?
Writing is more than words . . . it can be a form of resistance. This interactive workshop hosted on Tuesday, April 21, guided students through the process of crafting impactful advocacy writing and empowered participants to tell their story through their own words.
The event was guided and moderated by journalism professor (and Chaffey alum) Wynter Muro.
