Professor Vicki Tulacro Speaks Out Against Racism

Letter to The Breeze Editor,

It is not enough to be quietly non-racist; now more than ever is the time to be outspoken against racism.

I urge my fellow colleagues, Chaffey's governing board, and administration to vocally stand up to racism and support our Dreamers during this incredible time of fear and uncertainty. They need our unwavering support publicly, and they need it now.  We cannot stay silent and be supportive at the same time. We must denounce racism and hatred, and actively support our Dreamers.

May I remind you what Desmond Tutu said that if you choose to stay silent, you have chosen the voice of the oppressor.

I urge you to be the voice for the voiceless. Our Dreamers need us now more than ever.

In solidarity,

Prof. Vicki Tulacro
