COVID-19 Vaccine Vans in San Bernardino

San Bernardino County is using mobile vaccination vans to vaccinate those who are 65 years of age or older. A van is parked at a location and after the person is vaccinated they are led to a waiting area where they wait for 15 minutes in case there are any side effects. During this time they also schedule another appointment for the second dose. The vaccine vans have been stationed in Crestline and Lake Arrowhead, but San Bernardino County is also planning to have them in San Bernardino, Chino Hills, Colton, Lucerne Valley, Twentynine Palms, Rancho Cucamonga, Chino, Montclair, Trona and Needles.

Four People Arrested in Fontana on DUI Charges

Four people were arrested for driving under the influence on Feb. 20. They were arrested during a DUI checkpoint on Cherry Avenue at Santa Ana Avenue from 8 p.m to 3 a.m. Eighteen drivers were issued citations for driving with a suspended/revoked license. The Fontana Police Department will be havng more DUI checkpoints this year.

Sharp Increase In Gas Prices in San Diego

San Diego has not had gas prices in the $4 range since COVID-19 started, but FOX 5 recently discovered gas prices for $4.19 off of Del Mar Heights Road. Experts in the industry say that the increase in gas prices is partially because of the recent storms across Texas and the Midwest. Another reason for the increase in gas prices is that more people are driving and even taking road trips. Making sure your tire pressure is accurate, your fluids are topped off and you do not have extra weight in your car are good ways to be fuel efficient during an increase in gas prices.

Community Blood Drives in Fontana

Lifestream Blood Bank will be running blood drives in Fontana on Feb. 26, 27 and 28. On Feb. 26 the blood drive will be conducted at a Farmer Boys in Sierra Lakes Parkway from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. Blood donors will receive a T-shirt as well as a coupon from Farmer Boys for a burger. The other two blood drives will be conducted at the Water of Life Community Church from 2 p.m to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and 8:30 am to 1:30 p.m on Sunday. Blood donors have to wear a face mask and have their temperature checked.

Plans For Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

Disney World is planning an 18 month long party to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The party will begin on Oct. 1 and Disney says its teams are creating shimmery and sparkly decorations such as gold bunting, new lights, magical fireflies and new costumes for Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Reservations for the parks are still open.
